Support the Madisonville High School Theatre Department!
The Madisonville High School Theatre Department will be presenting us with “Peter Pan” this coming school year. We are going to be performing the ultimate act of flying, and for that we are doing numerous fundraisers to help raise money. The Madison County Arts Council has already made a donation, but we are still in need of funds. Along with the car washes and movie nights we have already hosted, we are holding two Theatre Camps next week; an acting camp and a Technical Theatre camp. Starting next Monday July 12 at 8:00 am, the cost is $50.00 per student. We will also be selling ads for the program to raise money.
What would Peter Pan be without flying? This play will give the students and community something they have never experienced before. We will be bringing in a world renowned flight company called ZFX Flying. They have flown everything from school productions to Broadway throughout the world. They fly more than 400 productions a year. They will fly here, stay for 3 days, hook up the system and teach our students how to run it. They will also conduct Masters classes for all of our Acting, Technical theatre and Physics classes during those 3 days. They will be bringing 4 different flight systems to enable Peter, Wendy, John and Michael to all learn to fly at the same time. What person alive hasn’t at some point in their lives wanted to be able to fly? I know I still do……
Donations can be sent directly to the school (Madisonville Theatre Department, Madisonville High School, P.O. Box 879 Madisonville TX. 77864).
